The short version. We collect only what we need to run ClearPath and Pause. We do not sell your information. Your mobile information is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing. What you write in Pause is private to your own phone: John sees only counts and flags.
Who we are
ClearPath is a personal coaching service run by John Gann. This policy covers the website at findaclearpath.org, your ClearPath path page, Pause (the private companion tool for logging hard moments) and the optional reminder texts. Questions go to jganntx@gmail.com.
What we collect
The contact form on the home page
Your name, email address, message and, if you choose to give it, your phone number. We save the message in our database and email it to John so an inquiry is never lost. Nobody is added to a mailing list. To limit spam we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for a few minutes; we do not store the address itself.
Your ClearPath path
If you are a ClearPath client, John creates a path for you with your name, email address, phone number, the steps and goals you work on together, your progress and comments, and the names and contact details of your support team. Anyone who has your path link can open it, so treat the link like a password.
Pause
Pause is private. What you write there (your goal, your feelings, your entries, your reframe answers and your cards) is stored in a private area that only your own browser can read. John's Dashboard shows him counts and simple flags, such as how many entries you logged this week. It does not show what you wrote, and the system does not allow it to. Pause signs your browser in anonymously, without an email address or password, and uses your browser's storage to remember it. You can download everything you have written, or delete it, from the Export or delete screen at any time.
John also holds your first name and, if you want reminder texts, your mobile number, so the reminders can reach you.
Because this information is stored with Google (see below), someone with administrator access to our Google account could technically reach stored data. We do not use that access to read what clients write in Pause.
Reminder texts and your consent
If you agree to reminder texts we keep your mobile number and a record of your consent. Every time you agree or change your mind we record the date and time, whether it happened in person with John or on your own Pause page (or was changed by John, for example after a STOP reply), the version of the notice you saw, and the last four digits of your number. These records are kept so we can show when and how you agreed. See the SMS Terms for how the texts work.
Team sign-in
Support team members sign in to the Dashboard with an email address and password. We keep their name, email address and the paths they support.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics. Your browser stores a small amount of data to keep you signed in (for Pause) and to remember when you last viewed your path.
How we use your information
- To provide ClearPath and Pause, and to coach you.
- To answer your inquiries and send the emails you expect, such as a welcome email with your path link.
- To send reminder texts, only if you agreed to them.
- To keep the service secure and prevent spam.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use a few service providers, who handle it only to run the service for us:
- Google (Firebase). Hosts our websites, stores our database and signs people in.
- Brevo. Sends our emails and text messages on our behalf, including contact form notices, welcome emails and the reminder texts you agree to.
- EmailJS. Delivers the summary email to your support team when you press “Save & Notify Team” on your path page.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Text messaging and your mobile information
Your mobile information is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
You can stop reminder texts at any time: reply STOP to any text, uncheck the box on the Reminder texts screen in Pause, or tell John.
How long we keep information
- Pause entries and cards: until you delete them. Deleting removes everything you wrote (your goal, feelings, trigger windows, entries and cards). John keeps only the counts.
- When a Pause track is archived: reminder texts stop and your mobile number is removed. Your first name and the counts stay.
- Consent records: kept as a record of when and how you agreed or stopped. They hold no number except its last four digits.
- Contact form messages and ClearPath paths: for as long as we need them to work with you. Ask us to delete yours at any time.
How we protect it
Data travels over encrypted connections. Database rules control who can read and write each piece of information, and Pause's private area is closed to everyone except your own browser. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not share your links with others.
Your choices
- Stop texts: reply STOP, or use the box in Pause.
- Download or delete what you wrote in Pause, any time, from the Export or delete screen.
- Ask to see, correct or delete your other information: email jganntx@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
